qPCR analysis using qbasePLUS

Goal

This training specifically focuses on the design and analysis of gene expression data using qbase+. During this training you will learn to:

- design primers for qPCR

- design the qPCR experiment

- use qbase+ to analyze the data: assess data quality, identify differentially expressed genes

- use Genevestigator and qbase+ to select and assess reference genes

- use GraphPad Prism to  visualize the results

Summary

This hands-on training provides an introduction to the design and analysis of qPCR data using Biogazelle's qbase+ and other software. Although the software allows to do various types of analyses (gene expression, copy number analysis, miRNA profiling), we will focus in the training on gene expression analysis. Qbase+ software is freely distributed by BITS to VIB scientists

Therefore the training will be limited to VIB scientists.

Required skills

This training is intended for people with basic knowledge of the principles underlying qPCR.
