Quick introduction to RStudio

Summary 

RStudio is an interface that makes R easier to use. It includes a code editor, debugging and visualization tools.


Goals

At the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Create a project for data analysis
  • Create a folder structure
  • Know where to find help
  • Import files/datasets
  • Understand and move around layouts
  • Use a few shortcuts
  • Learn to install packages

Requirements

For this workshop you are required to bring your laptop with the software installed. Installation instructions will be sent to participants. We recomend you setup eduroam to have internet connection during the workshop.


Target audience

Life scientists, students and industry staff are welcome for this short introduction.


Level

  • No programming knowledge required.
  • If you have used R but not RStudio you are also welcome to attend. 
  • If you have used RStudio before you might also learn a few tricks.
