Postdoctoral Position in Alzheimer’s Disease: Molecular Biology - Pluripotent Stem Cell Biology


​The laboratory for research into Neurodegenerative disorders headed by Prof. Bart De Strooper is a vibrant and international research center where key issues related to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson disease are tackled.

We are looking for an ambitious and motivated postdoctoral researcher to work on an innovative experiment involving engineered human iPS cells and a Crisper/CAS9 based unbiased genetic screen in brain in vivo. You will work with a unique human/mouse chimeric model of Alzheimer’s disease that we developed and are about to publish in Neuron.

  • This research position is available to candidates with a training in molecular biology, genetic engineering and cell biology. Additional experience with stem cells, with mouse work, next-generation sequencing, single-cell sequencing, imaging, fluid handling robotics, microfluidics or neurosciences is an advantage but not necessary.
  • We request good publication record demonstrating that the candidate is an efficient and productive researcher. 
  • The ability to work in a multidisciplinary research team as well as effective communication skills and a good mastery of the English language is essential.
