Prof. Claudia Bagni, head of the Laboratory for Molecular Neurobiology, Center for the Biology of Disease, is looking for a Personal Assistant to support herself and her team of international scientists (www.med.kuleuven.be/cme).
The laboratory works on the most frequent form of mental retardation : the Fragile X Syndrome as well as on other forms of intellectual disabilities. The laboratory is an internationally recognized team of scientists and trains PhD Students and Postdoctoral fellows in their scientific work.
The laboratory is located in a brand new building, overlooking the town of Leuven and forms part of the Faculty of Medicine of the Catholic University of Leuven.
The PA will work intensively with Prof. Bagni and support the lab team. Being the first point of contact in most cases, good communications skills and discretion will be vital in this role.
Function Description
-You will be the administrative right hand for the head of the laboratory and the main point of contact for the lab members.
-You will take instructions provided by the laboratory head and complete required tasks; screen and handle telephone calls and manage enquiries; manage post, emails and faxes, issuing responses where possible; act as a main point of contact; organize diaries and book appointments; assist laboratory head with meetings and arrange logistics, such as travel and accommodation; take minutes at lab meetings; produce letters or reports on the professor’s behalf; oversee office procedures
-You will oversee some financial aspects including handling the purchase orders for lab materials
-You will perform other related duties as required.
