Lab Technician

The Lamkanfi lab at the Department of Medical Protein Research of VIB and Ghent University is working on the role of NOD-like receptors and inflammasomes in the immune system. To support this front-line research, we are currently looking for a laboratory technician with experience in animal models and molecular biology.  The successful candidate will work in a young, dynamic and internationally-oriented research team.
VIB and Ghent University are exciting, interdisciplinary research institutes with excellent facilities (e.g. proteomics, next-gen sequencing) and research groups in e.g. immunology, microbiology, genetics, molecular and cellular biology and translational research. The Lamkanfi lab is located at the Rommelaere campus in the city center of Ghent, a vibrant, international city in the heart of Europe.
We offer full-time employment with a one year contract that is extendable upon positive evaluation.

​• You are a professional bachelor with hands-on experience in molecular and cell biology (PCR, cloning, tissue culture, immunoblotting, etc.)
• You can handle mice and perform tail genotyping
• You have a sense for responsibility, can work independently and are eager to learn.
