Bio-incubator Leuven


The bio-incubator in Leuven is a joint venture between VIB, KU Leuven and AVEVE, and is situated at the Arenberg Research Park in Leuven.

The Bio-incubator Leuven offers 40,000 sq. ft., but expansions to 80,000 sq. ft. is currently ongoing. 

Key facts

The building consists of a multi-user area and 12 units of approximately 2,700 sq. ft. each. The multi-user area includes meeting rooms, storage room, kitchen, canteen and reception, including a receptionist.  Each unit consists of:
  • 6 to 7 air-conditioned laboratories, conforming to bio-safety Class 2 activities and easily upgradable to bio-safety Class 3 activities
  • air-conditioned offices
  • 1 incubator room
  • 1 cold room
  • separated air purifier and drainage of water
  • internet connection
  • wet space
  • high flexibility for changing offices to lab space and vice versa

Tenants can get access to one or more units on flexible terms. There is also support from a Facility Manager and access to the animalarium in collaboration with the K.U.Leuven.
