structure belgium.jpg VIB is a research institute focused on pioneering research in the life sciences. Its scientists study the molecular mechanisms in the human body, plants and microorganisms.

VIB is designed around the unique concept of close collaboration with and between the four Flemish universities of Ghent, Leuven, Antwerp and Brussels. Together with these universities, VIB employs over 1,200 scientists and technologists in 72 research groups. Thanks to this one-of-a-kind partnership, VIB is able to leverage the collective expertise and experience in the life sciences of a large pool of scientists.​
