Work-life balance, gender balance; the balance between teaching and research, and between fundamental and applied research… these are but a few examples of contentious choices that scientists are confronted with.

Do you want to know how Dr. Anne Corcoran guided the Babraham Institute (Cambridge, UK) towards a Silver Athena Swan award in recognition of their efforts to promote equality and diversity? Are you interested in a discussion based on some real data on the (im)balances in PhD careers in Belgium vs the world? Or do you want to know how the VUB rector Prof. Caroline Pauwels and KULeuven general manager Prof. Koenraad Debackere manage to keep their large, internationally renowned research Universities in balance?

Join us at the 4th VIB Postdoc Day on October 11, 2018
at the Horta Café in AntwerpIn the afternoon, a group of VIB PI's and invited speakers will share their experiences, discuss and respond to your questions in a panel debate on managing these issues of balance in science. And of course, there will be plenty of time for networking with the speakers and with your postdoc colleagues. On top of that, you have the opportunity to take the stage yourself in our sessions of Postdocs Got Talent
The event is free of charge, but registration is mandatory. A fee covering the catering costs will be charged in case of no show. Take a look at the program.
