VRTC curriculum
In the training course five different modules are embedded, each with its specific focus. Per module related trainings and/or courses are grouped as listed.
MODULE I: SCIENTIFIC THINKING
-Science Visits
-Scientists@work
MODULE II: TRANSFERABLE SKILLS
-Scientific writing
-Communication and presentation techniques
-Tech Transfer and science-based entrepreneurship
-Science ethics
MODULE III: TECHNOLOGY TRAININGS
-Training on state-of-art technology platforms
MODULE IV: EMERGING LIFE SCIENCE TECHNOLOGIES
-Introduction to emerging life science technologies
MODULE V: SCIENTIFIC NETWORKING
-Thematical summer schools
-Ph.D. symposia
In essence, the modules can be considered as a pool out of which scientists can catch up their loved item(s). No threshold, no limitation, no obligation: just be free to select whatever you want! If, however, you have the ambition to upgrade a myriad of your skills, it is wise to subscribe for a so-called entire VRTC curriculum. Guidelines that are in place herefore are described below.
Guidelines entire VRTC curriculum
There are a dozen of ways to compose a personalized entire VRTC curriculum, though a package needs to meet the following criteria to be certified as such:
- visit at least 2 of the science visits in Module I Scientific Thinking.
- follow minimally 5 days of training of Module II Transferable Skills.
- participate in minimally 3 one-day sessions of Module III Technology Trainings.
- attend at least 2 lectures of Module IV Emerging Life Science Technologies.
- follow minimally 4 days of Module V Scientific Networking.
At minimum, 15 days (120 hours) of training are required when an entire VRTC curriculum is aimed. However, 20 days (160) are highly recommended herefore.
