VIB's bio-incubators offer laboratory and office facilities for life sciences companies. Each bio-incubator consists of the same structure:
- Total surface of approximately 40,400 sq. ft. (3,750 m2) with 12 units of approximately 2,700 sq.ft. (200-250m2) each, multi-user area including meeting rooms (example from Ghent), reception area, canteen (example from Ghent), kitchen, storage room (only in Leuven) and lavatories
- Each unit consists of :
- 6 to 7 air-conditioned laboratories (example from Ghent), conform biosafety class 2 activities and easily upgradable to biosafety class 3 activities
- air-conditioned offices
- 1 incubator room
- 1 cold room (example from Ghent)
- separated air purifier and drainage of water
- internet connection
- wet space
- high flexibility for changing offices to lab space and vice versa
- Units available on an individual basis, combinable up to 10,800 sq.ft. (± 1,000 m2)
- Flexible renting terms
- Fully licensed
- Tech support: help with installation, desk officer and (only in Leuven) facilities manager and animalarium support in collaboration with facilities of K.U.Leuven
