The VIB communications team’s mission
The team provides scientifically-based information about gene technology in all its facets. The communications team devises many projects for different target-groups: politicians, journalists, young people, teachers, stakeholders, etc.
The communications team is also responsible for internal communication between the VIB’s research departments and organizes an annual internal seminar, workshops and the VIB social events. In addition, they are responsible for the quarterly internal newsletter (VIB News) distributed to all VIB-collaborators.
The team
The communications team is headed by Jo Bury, managing director, who co-ordinates the activities of the team. Evy Vierstraete, Sooike Stoops and Joris Gansemans(Sience Communications experts) and Inge Geysen, Niels De Smet and Sven Verheyen complete and support the various communication activities. René Custers, Regulatory and Communications Manager, takes on the communication regarding safety and regulations and is assisted by Brigitte Van Laecken.
